Founding
Specialty Construction, Inc. “SCI” began when, in 1994, Rudy and Melissa Bachmann formed Bachmann Enterprises, Inc. The initial company’s early market focus was telecommunications for major and minor wireless carriers and some general construction contracting. In short time, Rudy and Melissa attracted very dedicated and talented individuals with a common goal – work hard, deliver on promises, and make a profit. They endured the market demands and delivered projects on a timely basis. A continued strong commitment to customer satisfaction secured a major position in today’s construction markets.

In 1996 Specialty Construction, Inc. was founded, and they applied their customer care and hard work to the general building sectors for both public and private clients.

Expansion & Diversification
During this time, SCI (formerly Bachmann Enterprises, Inc.) recruited the necessary staff to further expand and diversify its market place in hard bid, negotiated general construction, and general engineering projects. By 1999, they increased their staff resources to approximately 25 employees, and were recognized as a full service general contractor providing building construction services, light civil construction, and telecommunications.
In 2001, SCI made one more critical business diversification by entering the civil engineering construction market place. Beginning with small grading and utility projects, Specialty Construction gained skill and confidence in civil engineering construction and demonstrated this by aggressively entering the public works civil construction market. By 2004, they accumulated and paid for approximately $3 million in initial capital equipment fleet and successfully delivered major civil engineering projects including underground sewer construction, water main construction, facility construction, and remediation projects.
At present time, SCI has approximately eighty-five employees, and three distinct construction divisions successfully delivering general construction, civil construction, and telecommunication construction in six counties from Los Angeles County to Monterey County. Although their volume and markets have substantially changed since 1994, their initial vision has not changed. They still conduct their day-to-day business with strong emphasis on working hard, delivering on promises, and making a profit. They continue to hold to their corporate belief - quality, safety and integrity.
